Robert (Bob) Allen Volk, 74, of South Dayton died peacefully at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville surrounded by his loving family on September 3, 2020.
Robert was born on July 15, 1946 in Gowanda, NY, the son of the late George J. and Lillian P. Volk. Robert was predeceased by his wife Barbara.
Robert attended Pine Valley Central School. He retired from Austin Milling Inc. in South Dayton. Robert would want to be remembered as an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed watching and cheering for New York Yankees and the Buffalo Bills.
He is survived by his children, Michael (Maureen) Volk of Cherry Creek and Eric (Lindsey) Volk of Fredonia; Grandchildren Marcus, Miles, and Mikayla Volk; His brother Donald (Karen) Volk of Lynchburg, VA and his sister Sherry (Bernard) Gruszynski of South Dayton; Also survived by Dr. Frederick (Joanne) Volk of Lynchburg, VA, Kristy (David J.) Kohler of South Dayton, and Dr. Kimberly Volk of Mesa, AZ; along with several great nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife and parents, He was predeceased by his brother Lynn A. Volk, a nephew Andrew C. Volk, and a great nephew Ollie (Oliver) Kohler.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The South Dayton Fire Department.
A celebration of life will be held at the family’s convenience in October.
