Toshie A. Smith

 

Toshie A Smith nee Saito, 89, of Lakeview, NY and formally of Cherry Creek, NY entered into rest February 23, 2020.

She was born in Dalian, Manchuria November 18, 1930 to Osamu and Shisa Saito.

Toshie married Robert M. Smith December 31, 1976 and was married until Roberts passing in 2013.

She was an inspector for SKF Industries in Falconer, NY where she retired after 25 years of service.

Toshie loved bird watching, baking for her family, swimming, visiting the ocean and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving children Ronald P. (late Pamela) McCabe, Elizabeth A. (John P.) Dedloff, Raymond N. (Barbara) McCabe, Cynthia R. (William Jr.) Raub, Melvin R. (Linda) Smith, Lynn M. (Cynthia) Smith and Christopher A. Smith; 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren,

Toshie was pre deceased by her parents; a sister Mitsuyo, a brother Noboru and a daughter Kathleen Smith.

Relatives and friends may visit DiStasio Funeral Home 478 Route 83 at Balcom Corners, South Dayton Saturday February 29, 2020 from 4PM to 8PM.

A memorial service will be held Sunday 1PM at Cherry Creek Leon United Methodist Church 6813 Main St. Cherry Creek, NY 14723. Family and friends are invited to stay after the service for a luncheon to continue sharing memories of Toshie’s life.

Interment will be in Cherry Creek Central Cemetery
