Guestbook

Had an urge to search for Rev Derk and was saddened to see he had passed.
My first wife (deceased) and I were married by him in Cheektowaga. A very nice man and a sunny day I remember fondly.

Peace to all

Dave and family,
It is with deep sorrow that I received word of your Dad's death. He was truly a friend from the early days of my decision to enter the pastoral ministry. Later as pastor of our home congregation at Cleveland Hill, he was a trusted friend and pastor to my parents. He was a great help at the time of Mom's passing. Dad spent many hours with him in work and activities in the years following. May his presence in a new way be always in your heart. With love and blessings, Ron

We were so saddened to hear the news of Rev. Derk's passing! While we know he had a certain hope of resurrection to eternal life - something to celebrate - we also know that another empty spot is left in your hearts in this life.

Our sincerest sympathies go out to you.

David and family: your dad was at Cleveland Hill when I moved to Buffalo from Chattanooga in January, 1975. In fact, we had first meet at the Anchor Bar in December 0f 1974 when I visited to see if this move would be a good thing in my life! (I always thought that was a neat place to have met that group of clergy). Your dad was always hospitable, kind, and generous of spirit. I remember hm with great fondness and will think of you all from Chattanooga tomorrow. Grace and peace, Paul.

Dave and Donna and family,
As a United Methodist Minister, I give thanks for your dad and his ministry though I never had a chance to meet him personally. However, I think I did meet him a little through your ministry Dave . I am grateful for that his life and influence live on through your life and ministry. I will be praying for you all in the days ahead.
May the peace that passes all understanding surround you all.
