Leon W McNamara

Leon W. Mc Namara, 80, of South Dayton entered to rest December 28, 2021
He was born September 1, 1941 to the late Clayton and Lois (Houck) McNamara.
Leon married Esther Fryer June 2, 1962 and worked together on their family farm for 35 years. After he sold the farm, he worked at Giers feed mill and milked cows at Smallbacks Farm.
He loved bowling, hunting, watching western movies and watching sports especially baseball and football. He had a special love for animals especially Holstein cows. Family and freinds were extremely important to him.
Leon is survived by his cherished children Patrick (Marie) McNamara and Tammy (Jim Craig) Schroeder; grandchildren Jennifer, Christopher, Tyler, Patrick and Mark; a brother Ronald McNamara also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Esther and older brother Glenn McNamara.
Relatives and friends may visit DiStasio Funeral Home 478 Route 83, South Dayton Thursday December 30, 2021 from 4PM to 7PM where a funeral service will be held Friday December 31, 2021 at 11AM. Services will be performed by his cousin Sandy Houck.
Interment will be in Villenova Cemetery

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the South Dayton Volunteer fire department.


Jim and I just found out about Leon. He really was a wonderful man Hard working and caring. You have our deepest sympathy for his loss to you families.
