Leila R Keppel

Leila R. Keppel, 92, of South Dayton passed away peacefully January 26, 2019. at the Gowanda Rehabilitation and Nursing center.

 She was born on October 4, 1926 in Dayton, NY the daughter of  the late Burton and Agnes Burmaster Bell.

Leila graduated from the Cherry Creek High School and was one time employed by the former Curtis/Burns Canning factory.

She married Alvin E. Keppel who preceded her in death in 1985.

Leila was an active member of the South Dayton United Methodist Church. She loved knitting, baking, reading and spending time with family and friends.

Leila is survived by her daugther Marlene (Richard) Nagel of South Dayton: her grandchildren Holly (Pasquale) Casane of Erie, PA and Stacey (Daryl) Gallaway of Eden; her great grandchildren Eleandra and Dominick Casane, Mason and Justin Deuschle; a sister Carol (Dick) Allnatt of Alvin, Texas also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was pre deceased by her siblings Fredric Bell, Helen Weaver  Edna Abbey and Marion Moffett.

Leila’s family would like to give special thanks to Gowanda Rehabilitation and Nursing center for the exceptional care they provided.

Relatives and friends may visit DiStasio Funeral Home 478 Route 83 at Balcom Corners South Dayton Wednesday from 4PM to 7PM where a service will be held Thursday at 11AM.

Interment will be in Villenova Cemetery

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the South Dayton United Methodist Church
