Helen Eileen Thorp, age 92, of Cherry Creek, NY passed away August 30, 2022 with members of her family by her side.

She was born May 22, 1930 in Jamestown, NY to the late Clara P Palmer and the late DeForest Hall of Cherry Creek, NY.

After graduating High School, she continued her studies at the Jamestown Business School.

In 1949, Helen married the late Robert LeRoy Mosher in the Cherry Creek where they both resided together for the next 34 years. During this time, Helen worked initially as a teacher’s aide in the Cherry Creek School System. She changed positions to teller at the Cherry Creek Marine Midland Bank and later went on to become the bank manager.

In 1984, Helen and the late Dana Almon Thorp were married in the United Methodist Church in Cherry Creek. They resided together in Cherry Creek until Dana’s death in 1986.

Helen moved to Alaska in 1993 where she worked as a manager of the Campfire Girls after school program. She returned to Cherry Creek in 2000, and began her new career in the Cherry Creek Village Office.

For the past 5 years, she has lived with her daughter Eileen, Eileen’s partner Steve and her family in Richmond Virginia. While there, she became an associate member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.

Helen is survived by her four Children, Juanita, Brent, Bobbie and Eileen; her step children Bonita and Anita as well as a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who affectionately refer to her as Grandma-Great.

Helen always loved her hometown of Cherry Creek. She contributed to her community by freely giving her time to the Cherry Creek United Methodist Church as well as the Twice Fed Food Panty. She had an incredible work ethic, which all her children adopted. She worked tirelessly in her professional life and in her personal life.
