Dollie A. Chase

Dollie Chase, 72, of South Dayton passed away Friday September 11,2020 at Roswell Park Cancer Center.

She was born October 18, 1947 to the late Glenn and Mildred (Hall) Phillips.

In addition to her parents, Dollie was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Butcher.

Dollie was an avid reader, a hobby she loved almost as much as she enjoyed baking treats for family and friends.

She delighted in exploring the Adirondacks and Maine with Don and loved sharing stories about the wildlife she saw there as well as the animals in her own backyard (have you heard about the bear that knocked down her birdfeeder?) Her playful, silly sense of humor will be especially missed.

Dollie is survived by her husband of 51 years, Don, her daughters Shana and Michelle, her grandsons Andrew and Gunner also many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may visit DiStasio Funeral Home 478 Route 83 at Balcom Corners South Dayton Thursday September 17, 2020 from 4PM to 7PM where a funeral service will be held Friday at 11AM.

Pursuant to the COVID 19 New York State guidelines, occupancy limitations will be observed. Face masks are required.

Interment will be in Villenova Cemetery

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Pine Valley Central School Library.

My thoughts and prayers are with Don and family during this difficult time. Dollie was so thoughtful and kind.

Condolences from cousins Colleen (Harper) and Janice (Boothby). Our dad (Art Hall) was Dollie's mother's brother. Our two families spent holidays and summers together while we were growing up. For me (Janice) the memory of Dollie and me going to the "soda fountain" in down town South Dayton on Saturday nights for hot fudge sundaes will always be what I think of when I think of Dollie.

Janice Boothby Sep 15 2020 12:00 AM

Our prayers and thoughts go out to Dollies family. She always seemed to wear a smile around others which made others smile as well.

I have many memories from our terrific friendship in high school. She was my best friend then; we stayed in touch for a while but time passed & we lost touch! Don, my heart is grieving with you & the girls. Unfortunately I cant be there as I am in Florida. Please know my thoughts & prayers are with you!
