Benjamin M Colvin

Benjamin M Colvin, 47, of Leon, NY entered into rest December 8, 2021 surrounded by family.

He was born October 22, 1974 in Dunkirk, NY to Brian and Anna (Howard) Colvin.

Ben graduated from Pine Valley Central Schools in 1993. In January 1994 he enlisted into the United States Marine Corp. and graduated from Paris Island, SC. He served from 1994 to 1999 and was part of the Marine Corps airwing. After the military he worked in the private sector for a few years and then went to school to become an engineer. He attended JCC and graduated from RIT with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and was currently employed as a Controls Systems Engineer for Goya Foods in Angola, NY.

Ben had a great love for his family, friends and the outdoors. In his spare time, he shared his love of 4H by serving as a committee member for the Chautauqua County 4H Hog project. He enjoyed taking a weeks’ vacation to camp at the Chautauqua fairgrounds spending time with his two boys and the 70 other hog project kids every year.

Ben is survived by his loving wife of 20 years Kathryn, his two boys Brendan and Hunter; his parents Brian and Anna Colvin; his brothers Jayson (Jaci) Colvin and Zachary (Robin) Colvin; his mother-in-law Marianne Fisher; his nieces and nephews Jordyn Rae, Brayden, Bayley, Hannah, Colby and Aria also survived by several aunts, cousins and many friends.

He was pre deceased by his grand parents Clair and Eva Colvin and Francis and Margaret Howard.

Relatives and friends may visit DiStasio Funeral Home 478 Route 83, South Dayton on Monday December 13 from 3PM to
7PM and Tuesday from 12PM to 1PM where a funeral service will immediately follow.

Interment will be in Treat Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Benjamin’s name to Chautauqua County 4H hog program Cornell Cooperative Extension, Carnahan Bldg. 525 Falconer St. Jamestown, NY 14701 or the Shriners Hospital of Erie, PA 1645 w. 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505
