Julie Eaton

Julie A. Eaton (Newlander), 64, of South Dayton, NY passed away unexpectedly in her home on June 27, 2021.

She was born October 15, 1956 in Elmhurst, IL to the late Rosemary Land (Nix) and Frank Newlander.

Julie moved from IL in the late 70’s with her daughter, Violet to WA state where she then had a son (Mark) in 1981. Julie worked for Safeway for 7 years before being hired on with the State of WA. Julie worked for the state for 16 years before leaving to pursue her dream of becoming a flight attendant. She took early retirement in 2020 from the airline industry, where she settled down in NY.

Julie was a bright soul that had a contagious laugh that could fill up a room. She loved to travel and was always on the go whether it was doing day/weekend trips or dinking around the house. You could not keep her still long enough to even watch a movie. She was an avid animal lover and at one point in her life she had several pecking ducks, 3 dogs, 2 cats, a bunny and made friends with chipmunks and squirrels that she delightfully named Chippy and Squirrely.

Julie is preceded in death by her Mother and Step-Father, Roy and Rosemary Land (Nix) as well as her father, Frank Newlander who passed away when she was 7.

Julie is survived by her daughter, Violet Sterba (44), her son, Mark Clary (39) and 4 Grandchildren, Taryn Maness (23), Anthony Sterba (13), Addyson Sterba (11) and McKayla Clary (14) who all still reside in WA state. She is also survived by her two brothers John Newlander (Christy) of CA and Jeff Newlander (Darla) of FL and her sister Jackie Newlander of AZ.  She has 4 nieces, Heather, April, Rose and Rhianna, as well as Great Nieces and Nephews, Harrison, Abby, Lily and Logan.

There will be a memorial planned in coming months in WA state. Please send condolences to her daughter and son at 21417 44Th Avenue Ct E Spanaway, WA 98387.

Arrangements entrusted to Distasio Funeral Home Inc. South Dayton, NY
